How to Measure Your Perfect Bra Size

New Top Deal's mission is to make women feel fabulous about their bodies, which begins with ensuring that your new bra fits perfectly! No matter your shape, our guide to the perfect bra fit will get you well on your way to achieving the beautiful lift, shape, and comfort that your boobs deserve.

How to Tell You’re Wearing the Wrong Bra Size

  • Your straps are prone to slipping. If this cannot be easily corrected by adjusting the straps or adding removable cups, it is time to shop for a new bra.
  • You can only fit one finger under the band of your bra. If you can slip a few fingers under the bra band, the band is probably too big.
  • The cups pucker, indicating that they are not completely full. This is most visible when you wear a fitted shirt over your bra. If this happens, you should probably go down a cup size.

How to Measure Yourself

You are very interested in a bra on an online website and you want to buy it but are confused in finding your own correct bra size. Don't worry! You can completely do it at home with the following tools without needing professional help:

  1. Soft measuring tape (if you’re wondering how to measure bra size without a measuring tape, you can use string)
  2. Mirror
  3. Your best-fitting non-padded bra with underwire
  4. A calculator

Step 1: Find Your Band Size

Measure the circumference of your band directly under your bust with a soft measuring tape. This is essentially the circumference of your rib cage. When measuring, ensure that the tape is parallel to the ground and level. To the nearest whole number, round up. If that number is an odd number, round up to the nearest even number.

Step 2: Measure Your Bust Size

Measure the circumference of your body around the fullest part of your bust while wearing a non-padded bra. While measuring, use a mirror or a friend to ensure that the tape is level. This measurement should not include your arms. To the nearest whole number, round up. Remember to keep your bust measurement handy because this is where things can get tricky!

Step 3: Calculate Your Cup Size

You can determine your cup size by taking both your band and bust measurements. Subtract your bust measurement from your band measurement to find the difference. After you've determined the difference between the bust and the band, use the chart below to determine your cup size. The cup size increases by one letter for every inch.

Ex: If your band measurement is 40 inches and your bust measurement is 43 inches, there’s a difference of 3 inches. That 3-inch difference determines your cup size is a C. Finally, your bra size is 40C
