A: Hair dryer won’t be hot enough. Heat gun or small propane torch is sufficient; for the propane torch be careful and stand it off far enough not to burn the wires. Or a cigarette lighter if it is not too windy, but it takes more time of yours.
Q: Can I use these outdoors, will these connections be impacted by rain and sprinklers?
A: You definitely can use them outdoors. I suggest apply a few rounds of electrical tape for double sure and durable.
